Awesome sounds, incredible harmonies and tracks which seem to have been taken from the House of Lords at their peak. It's all thanks to the 'EGO' project, a band with only 2 musicians. Michael Ashcroft plays all the instruments and Nevin Appel, clearly inspired in no small part by James Christian, is the very interesting vocalist. Strangely, since this, EGO’s first recording, does not have the singer perform any of the usual heartrending ballads which normally crop up somewhere between tracks 3 and 5, the album passes quickly. It demonstrates red-hot keyboard-playing and guitar riffs, played with great authority and control. Perhaps true musicians are those like Ashcroft, perfectly at ease whether playing the keyboards or swapping to the six-string. It would appear that the independent labels have started to disregard the groups who made the AOR movement of the 1980s popular. The world is full of heirs, and we need new groups like EGO to re-launch metal, otherwise everyone will continue to be woken up by radio stations playing wishy-washy punk and the unmpteenth manufactured record of the moment. iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiI iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiRoberto Guarnieri's Hot Licks Review - Italy

iiiiiiiiiiiiiFashion Is Illusion.  No.1 Hit. Great songs. Why aren’t they signed?iiiiiiii
The EGO CD is a throwback to 80’s AOR rock. It is definitely a good listen. The song Fashion Is Illusion could be a hit. Hopefully some producer will sign these guys so we won’t have to listen to some of the crap that is out there.
